J Countdown bits

I just managed to watch the JE countdown. So, let's see..
I love the senpai. I've said this before xD
and this one is a rare chance to happened..former buddies?

Two leaders rock!
Two dai senpai, Matchy-san x Sato Atsuhiro (Hikaru Genji). He looks awesome, and he's only 37 xD

I saw Uchi, but I didn't see Toma!
Arashi...they looks like teenagers forever ^^'

Kanjani8..I'm happy to see you again, guys~
and Subaru looks cute with that hairstyle and Hina is the most busy person in Japan at the new year.

Don't kill me but Tego, you looks like a kawaii girl!^^
SMAP songs has been singing every year, but to mention SMAP with Arashi that were on NHK, feels like SMAP will come to countdown party one day?
This is the second time as I remember that KinKi Kids sang SMAP songs? Previously they sang Yozora no mukou.
I'm sorry, but who's this group? Ah it's Kis-My-Ft2? xD

Among the juniors, the one makes me curious is HSJ. They were on SDK before, so I'm curious on how they look after 3 years. They were 10 members before, right? They're pretty tall xD
So, let's see

Kota & Yaotome! Yaotome surprised me!^^'

Should I say it's Keito & Takaki?

Darioka & Yamada

Nakajima & Ryotaro
I didn't spot Inoo Kei. Was he there? He was there.

5 BEST + 5 HS7 (+ Yuma)
*edited*
Here they are HSJ + Yuma

and.. how I love to see KinKi Kids as the host! To see them more active among the crowd :p
I like the Family stage..
Oyasuminasai~

Bits from MSSL 2010

Sho (Arashi) wore a jacket that similar to Koichi's jacket on Family PV (because I like the jacket^^).

photo thanks to maharan1@lj
Except at the sleeves, there's an embroidery on Koichi's. The embroidery makes the jacket more elegant, more like a prince'.

Speaking of Koichi, here's KinKi Kids-san
White & gold, eh?
What's wrong with hyde? I can't really see his face~

Oh, just saw the HQ file and he's totally blonde^^'
look at how he put his glasses xD

[lyric] 「Regress or Progress」 - Arashi/二宫 和也

Regress or Progress

[bits of pieces] Countdown 2007-2008, Shibutani Subaru & ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI

I'm starting today with delight after read at usami-chan's LJ about 'one blanket' xD
But few hours later.. someone ruins it. The rest of the day (untill this time) I worked with no energy :/
But, after work, I found something interesting.. it's about Shibutani Subaru attended ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI concert last year (credit to annika). Haaa how long since last time I talked about him? I remember him at Countdown 2007-2008. He has new hairstyle. He cut his hair shorter than It's My Soul time. He looks fresh. He looks like Kato Shigeaki^^

Hikkie-chan gave me Countdown copy the other day. It's in a DVD format, so I can't make a snapshot of it. It was a bright party. With KinKi's Φ stage (the stage has Φ shape), and somehow the Dome lights seemed so bright.

- TOKIO, V6, KinKi Kids, Arashi, Tackey & Tsubasa, NEWS, Kanjani, KAT-TUN, Hey! Say! JUMP, and Ikuta Toma with special guest Higashiyama Noriyuki.
- Arashi is the host this time. Main talker were Sho and Jun.
- Some with new haircut (at least for me); Subaru, Tsubasa. Tsubasa looks more mature~
- Nishikido Ryo is the poor boy. He had to keep moving between NEWS and Kanjani, changed clothes too yet he always smiling. I guess MVP for this countdown should be for him^^
- Koichi got his birthday present from Nagase, a kiss xD
- Koichi duet with Tackey. Both looks like they were kyodai^^
- I thought the next will be Tsuyoshi and Tsubasa, but it's Tsuyoshi & Okada Junichi & Innochi. I noticed Tsuyo patted Okada in the end xD
- Tsuyoshi, Kokubun Taichi performed 'Fantastipo'. Somehow they asked along Nagase and Koichi. From the left to right it's Tsuyo, Nagase, Koichi then Kokubun. But look at Koichi, he kept looking at his aikata's dance, so he has to move backward a bit. Suspicious eh? Why don't you look at Kokubun who stood next to you? hahaaa...
- Yamapi x Kamenashi as Shuji to Akira performed Seishun to amigo, then Nishikido and Akanishi appeared singing for the last part of the song. (Is it just me?)
- Those who born in Rat year (02/15/1972 - 02/02/1973 & 02/02/1984 - 02/19/1985) appeared with hakama. I only remember Yamaguchi, Nagano, Yasuda Shota, Koyama, Nishikido Ryo, Akanishi, Ikuta Toma.
- Uhmm.. i noticed that Nikishido and Akanishi got the most loud applause.
- The last part, message from each group. I only notice on KinKi (gomen). Tsuyo started with put his face so close with the camera and then Kochi held Tsuyo face by two hands (cute^^). Later Tsuyo stood behind Koichi and gave an innocent looks (like the one he showed on Hey3x Telephone Box).
- They all singing a happy new year song 'はつうた', twice.
- Everyone looks happy :D

[bits of pieces] nice weekend...

What a nice weekend I have!

I'm not working this saturday.. and around 12 noon.. I had a package delivery.. it's from Wenn.. she's suprising me by sending me some delicious snacks!^^ Arigatou ne Wenn-chan~
I'm sorry, I haven't deliver yours, already wrapped it, and I'll send you on Monday.

At 4.30 I went to the theater for JIFFEST 'Bushi no Ichibun' with other smappies. Waiting for my sister first then we off to the theater. We've seen the movie before. Even my sister watched it several times already. Surprisingly she really liked Bushi and that's I hardly imagine xD She's sure no Kimura fan. Anyway, she's the one who insist for watching it again this time, especially since it's on the big screen.
Haven't got much time chat with others, but hikkie-chan, arigatou for letting me watch Arashi AAA tour~

I, always needs more than once to understand my idol's movie/drama in detail. Usually, first time watch is watching the idols (:P) .. then the next time watching, I'll take a full concentration on the story. This is also happened with Bushi. I found another interesting detail this time xD
Somehow, the movie itself was wonderful made and good story, so, I really never get tired of it.
I'm relieved notice the audience at that night. Beside us, fans, they're I'm sure are not and merely a moviegoers, boys and girls, men and women. We can see that they all enjoyed the whole movie, the humors in it and gave a big applause when it's over. Very relieving, indeed. My doubt on accepting Kimura's by moviegoers, swept away. You're really deserve it, Kimura-kun!

Sunday morning.. I start a day watching AAA concert. Sugoku tanoshii concert! First for Arashi at Tokyo Dome, isnt' it? I knew most of the songs performed. I notice several things..

a. Sho-Ohno pair.
You'll see the two eldest pairing often. I don't know the truth, but I saw them just remind me of the 2 tops at SMAP, Kimura-Nakai. Only that at SMAP concert, Kimura and Nakai never been on the same spot. One has to go the other direction, like splitting the leadership. The exception I knew was on MIJ concert at 'Song for your love' song xD

b. Ohno..
I knew Ohno is a former MA member. So, he must be good in dance. But, just notice it this time at his solo. You're good, Ohno~ You're also really funny when try to jokingly Aiba's xD

c. Aiba's solo.
Nice performance, Aiba-chan! You start to steal my focus since 'Itsuka no Summer' xD

d. Tackey & Tsubasa.
Hahaa... they surprisingly made an appearance just before Aiba's solo and stayed with Aiba till the song over. The shocking thing is.. when I saw there's a guy bring the microphone stand came out, with a hat.. I thought it was Koichi! and the other guy, with hair tailed and look like ossan.. I scream as I though it was Tsuyo! ^o^ Tackey really resemble Koichi! and Tsubasa really resemble Tsuyo! Hontou ni! My sister said the same. She kept saying Tsubasa really looks like Tsuyo.. getting ugly LOL Sorry sis, though you said so, I like both :P

Last, I have some KinKi and Tsuyo files from hikkie and Wenn. Love the Motokare's the making and the Shindoi. So, it's not the first time for Tsuyo meet Sawajiri, like he said on the recent SDK (if I'm not mistaken).

I hope that enough charged me for the next week~!

[snapshots] from Music Station 10.05

I'm soo tired today. What a busy day. I got a headache already :( But finally finished download this and I can smile a bit..
I got Laruku part only, but can see others too. Many has new hair style.

Our band members... cool as always

OMG, what happened to Sho's hair!! *shock* Nino, btw, looks better with that style.

Behind the band, there's Mr.Children, Takki & Tsubasa (what happened to his hair?) and Arashi.

I'm still not used to with Aiba's hair..

Hyde, hyde, hyde..

hyde performed well here. They sang it before on the concerts,so.. Yeah, I worried a lot when they have to perform new song for the first time :P

(嵐) Choosing leader of 嵐

Ah, I found this. I've seen before on D2. Many thanks to pandadog for the vid.

Many thanks to tayuri17 for the translation~ (I've been around just now, and found that this site seems belong to the same person http://tayuri.livejournal.com/)

Brief translation of what's going:

Host: Though I'm the leader of Shownen time, Who is Arashi's leader?
Arashi: No one is/There isn't one.
Host: You haven't decided on one? Who's the oldest here? Ohno?
Ohno: Yes. But I thought, it's impossible for me...
Host: It's impossible for you as leader?
Ohno: Yes.
Host: So who here has got it together the most?
Arashi: Sho-kun.
Host: Ah... Keio-boy. (Sho at the time was a student at Keio University; some more comments about Keio) In the mean time, should we pick a leader? Not to do the job, but a "fun" leader. Is there anyone who would like to do it (be leader)?
Arashi: *silence*
Host: If you could decide, who would it be?
Matsujun: For me, the oldest, Ohno-kun... I'd like to see him do it.
Host: Be leader?
Matsujun: Yes.
Host: That's Matsujun's opinion.
Aiba-chan: Me too. Ohno-kun would be good. Yes.
Nino: Me, then O-chan...
Sho-kun: Me too, for Ohno-kun.
Host: So everyone's for Ohno. Ohno, what do you think?
Ohno: No way, that's dangerous!
Host: So then, Ohno, who do you think would be best?
Ohno: Me, Sho-kun.
Host: Why don't we do Janken?
Sho-kun: Eh? Right now, to decide?
Host: That's right. Please come to the front.
(They do janken: Ohno wins (paper), Sho loses (rock. Ohno's happy, thinking that means he gets out of being leader.)
Sho/Host: You won, that means you're the leader!
Ohno: No way, I said that's dangerous!
Audience: Riidaa~!! (Leader!)
Host: I'm leader here, you're the leader of Arashi and Joushima is the leader of Tokio. We might be able to have a "leader" meeting every month... Please do your best!
Ohno: Yes... seriously?
Host: I'm serious.

---

hahahaaa poor Ohno-kun!^^
Yeah, I've read about this before, but I didn't know that it was on a show.

finally...

Rap

(Yeah, Kick it in yo, Come on, Sing a Little Song)

This is a Little Song, a Tiny Song

(Hello, Hello, My New World, Hello, Hello, Sing a Little Song)

Wow
I wanna say something 2 all my homies
Everything is gonna be all right

Arashi - Happiness PV

OMG, they are totally baka!^^
I noticed there's several Ohno-Sakurai interaction. I think I like to see them most :P
Aiba-chan.. he's baka as always LOL Ah, look at Aiba-chan's hair! I recall Koichi in Hey3 also has the same hairstyle. A new trend?
Anyway, this PV just makes you want to smile :)

[lyric] Mugendai (Kanjani 8), エンジェル - Angel (KinKi Kids) and Itsuka no Summer (Aiba)

No internet connection for a week, made me nothing much to do between hectic time.. So, here's what I did.. tried to romanizing songs. I can't read kanji, so this is based on my ears. I think it's also good way to learn the language, does it? Because I learnt English this way also :P
Correction are welcome.

*edited*
I've seen the kanji lyric for エンジェル (Angel) and tried to adjust with my previous. No more ears^^ Now at least I can correct the hiragana parts and some simple kanji :D

note: From the tone, this song is a sweet song. Like it first time hear it. I need to find the translation.
I heard Nikishido sung the song before. Someone use it as BGM for her fanvid for Nikishido. He has nice voice actually. I mean from young. Because his voice sounds so young. From the same fanvid I can hear Nikishido's child voice. So cute! He sounds like Michael Jackson boy, clear voice. Really. Listening to him singing this song, (Angel), it's beautiful. His voice was..what should i say.. makes you want to hear more. Yup. :D

[News] Japanese idol group TegoMass holds a concert at Taipei

TegoMass, a Japanese boy-band from the famous Johnny's Entertainment, held a mini concert at Taipei's Hsimending on Sunday.

The band is made up of 19-year-old Tegoshi Yuya and 20-year-old Masuda Takahisa, who are also members of Johnny's hot group NewS. TegoMass debuted in Sweden last December and are gaining more and more popularity as their second single CD was just released on May 16.

China's website 163.com reports that in the sweltering midday sun, more than 1500 fans, some having spent 12 hours waiting to get inside, welcomed their idols at Taipei's Hsimending with long-lasting scream.

The band sang three songs and showed off their Chinese speaking talent. Classic boy band fodder including but not limited to: "We are TegoMass", "I love you", and "Thank you" brought their fans to the edge of madness.

At the beginning, the two boys were scheduled to perform only two songs, one was their debut song "Miso soup" the other being "Kiss, a love song on way home", the title track of their new-released single.

Because the members of TegoMass are also part of NewS, the two were happy to add another song from their larger group to please eager fans.

They also announced that NewS will hold a concert in Taipei Arena on October 6 and 7. It will surprise few that the announcement caused bedlam among those in attendance.

The duo were invited as the presenters of the 18th Golden Melody Awards and gave out the "Best Songwriter Award" to Wu Ching-feng, the lead singer of the independent pop band Sodagreen, as well as singing two songs in Taipei Arena on Saturday evening.

The Johnny's Entertainment talent agency, which was established by Johnny Kitagawa back in the early 1960's, has dominated the boy-band market in the four decades since. Most of today's top male groups on Japanese TV are members of his stable: SMAP, Tokio, Kinki Kids, V6 and Arashi, while NewS and KAT-TUN are among the up-and-coming younger generation.

Kisarazu Cat's Eyes

Official website: http://www.tbs.co.jp/catseye/

Drama (TBS, January 18, 2002 – March 15, 2002)
Twenty-one year old former high school baseball player, Kohei, learns that he is dying from cancer. He is told that he only has six months to live, and decides that he wants to do something daring and risky. He proposes to five trusted members from his former baseball club that they form a ring of cat burglars that would steal from those who commit crimes. His friends think it odd, but feel they cannot turn down a dying man's request. With only six months, how much could they do anyway? -TBS (Wik)

The story of this series follows a young man at the age of 21 named Kohei played by Okada Junichi. The setting of the story is in Kisarazu (hence the title of the drama series), which is a city in Chiba, Japan. He is diagnosed with cancer and has been told that he has a total of 6 months to live. Instead of being depressed, Kohei decides to do something else, something daring and unique.

The show focuses mainly on Kohei and four of his close friends. The five grew up together as they were all on the same high school baseball team. Bambi (Sakurai Sho), Masta (Sato Ryuta), Ani (Tsukamoto Takashi), and Ucchie (Okada Yoshinori). Kohei, known as Bussan to his close friends, forms the group Kisarazu Cat's Eye. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kisarazu_Cat's_Eye)

Notes:
* A year after the series, in November 2003, the movie Kisarazu Cat's Eye: Nihon Series (http://www.tbs.co.jp/catseye/index_main-j.html) was released. The same cast were retained.
* Kisarazu Cat's Eye: World Series (http://www.tbs.co.jp/catseye/ws_pre/index-j.html), which was shown last October 2006, was the finale of the entire Kisarazu Cat's Eye series

The Movie: Nihon Series (2003)
When Bussan learns he has less than a year to live, he decides to continue his life as usual. He spends his time with his friends, a band called Kisarazu Cat's Eye. Their funny adventures range from playing gigs to solving a mystery surrounding counterfeit money, but Bussan's impending death is never far away.

The Movie: World Series (2006) --> I haven't seen this one.
The story picks up three years after the death of Kisarazu Cat's Eye leader Bussan (Okada Junichi). The rest of the gang - Bambi (Sakurai Sho), Master (Sato Ryuta), Ani (Tsukamoto Takashi), and Uchi (Okada Yoshinori) - has disbanded, and it seems the days of the past are long gone. Masta and Ani have left for better places. Ucchie is in the Self-Defense Force, mostly getting harassed by his menacing female commander (Kuriyama Chiaki, Kill Bill). Only Bambi remains in Kisarazu, and one day he hears a voice from above: "If you build it, he will come." Bambi goes about rounding up the original gang, and sure enough he - Bussan's spirit - does return Field of Dreams-style, along with a baseball team of zombies. (Yesasia)

This is a must to see. Kisarazu has unique story. The way the story goes was incredible unsual. They using flashback style. A bit confusing at first I admit, but later I really enjoyed this flashback style. In fact, it's made the drama more interesting to see. Like you've keep curious what is actually happened before..

The casts also superb. Okada Junichi of V6 portrayed Bussan very well. I had his image as a calm guy, but not this Bussan^^ The other casts; Ryuta Sota, Tsukamoto Takashi, Okada Yoshinori, Sakurai Sho of Arashi and Wakana Sakai also played well. Sakurai Sho surprised me. This is the first time I saw him act. His bad tempered image was really fell off here. No bad tempered Sho at all. He's Bambi. With his looks, Sho even more suitable to have a personality like Bambi than Sho^^ (am I too much? sorry :P)

I got Kisarazu Cat's Eyes fever for several months after watching the drama. Really. It's like all things in my mind was Bussan and his crazy fellows and the city. I put them as my signature in one forum before :P Yeah, it's that good!

As for Nihon series, the movie.. after you saw the drama you'll want this. The story is related of course. Moments before Bussan's death.

I'm still looking how to get the World Series..

[Article - Ninomiya] The story is written on this actor's face

WORLD CINEMA
The story is written on this actor's face
Kazunari Ninomiya, 23, expands an already long résumé as the "Iwo Jima" soldier onwhose visage war's toll is etched.

By Bruce Wallace, Times Staff Writer

Tokyo — Kazunari Ninomiya's face is unblemished, almost fragile, a porcelain slate of innocence onto which director Clint Eastwood projects the emotional toll of war in "Letters From Iwo Jima." Ninomiya plays Saigo, an apolitical baker conscripted into the doomed defense of the island, fighting not for the generals or the emperor but only to survive and return to his wife and infant daughter. Through his eyes we see battle, its cynicism, fear, the hatreds and pity. An unknown actor to American audiences, his face was perfect for Eastwood's Everyman.

But in Japan, Ninomiya is a mega-star, a face you can't avoid. This wisp of a 23-year-old has been in the business since he was 14. Big screen and small. Theater. A singer and dancer in Arashi (Storm), one of Japan's most popular male idol bands (and the Japanese love their idol bands). Ninomiya does TV commercials. He does radio shows, and he's a regular presence in Japan's mass-selling fan magazines. Even his voice is in demand, heard as one of the leading characters in the feature-length anime "Tekkon Kinkreet." The kid likes to work.

"It's different from wanting to be a star — I've always wanted to create something, I want to share the joy of creation with others," Ninomiya said between appearances last month for the Tokyo premiere of "Letters," which remains at the top of the Japanese box office weeks after release. The first screenings had left several young women in the audience in tears, though it was hard to tell whether they were crying over Saigo's story or from excitement when Ninomiya appeared on stage to take a bow with his costars after the credits. (hahahaa^^)

Cute? Well, yes

Creativity doesn't usually come high on the list of skills needed to succeed in Japanese pop culture, where cuteness is prized above all. Ninomiya is a product of the artist management company Johnny & Associates, founded in 1963 by California-born Johnny Kitagawa, which has produced the cutest of the cute in the boy idol industry.

With his stable of talent — talento as it is known here — Johnny's exerts extraordinary power over Japanese entertainment. Kitagawa's formulaically engineered idol bands, beginning with the Four Leaves in 1968 and continuing today with the omnipresent SMAP and a steady stream of other squeal-inducers like Arashi, don't just sing. Selected from thousands of auditioning teens, the idols are trained to dance, act and handle themselves on TV as part of Kitagawa's grooming for stardom. He uses established stars to leverage TV exposure for newcomers, a grip over the celebrity-thirsty networks that is commercially successful but also suggests that Johnny's is more factory than talent incubator.

Yet many here argue that Ninomiya is different from most of the cookie-cutter cuties of the idol world. He acted before he sang, debuting on stage rather than TV, in a production of "Stand by Me" at age 14. He had the River Phoenix role.

"Nino stood out early," says Julie Fujishima, a vice president at Johnny's. "He came to us to become a talento, but it was obvious he had a talent for acting." Fujishima says Ninomiya's breakthrough came in a TV drama called "Amagigoe" that aired on New Year's Day 1998. "He was very special, very good, and it got everyone's attention."

More TV dramas followed (TV tends to create bigger stars among Japanese fans than the movies do). And in 1999, Ninomiya became one of the five young stars selected by Johnny's to join Arashi, a J-pop troupe that made its singing and dancing debut on a cruise ship off Hawaii before it had a record out.

"I always liked singing," Ninomiya says. "When I was in the car with my family we'd always play music. I liked American bands, and I went to a Bon Jovi concert when they came to Tokyo Dome. Also Backstreet Boys. When I go to concerts by Japanese musicians, I tend to study them. But American musicians entertain me."

A string of Arashi hits predictably followed, though the relentlessly bland J-pop is not really about the music but about the look. It was Jun Matsumoto, with his ripped abs, who emerged as the band's biggest heartthrob, its Davy Jones, to use a Monkees analogy.

Arashi members have all cultivated different personalities for their fans, and Ninomiya is known as the "actor" in the group. He made his first movie in 2002, a supporting role in a drama called "Pikanchi, Life Is Hard, but Happy." He continued to find theater roles, playing the James Dean role of Jim Stark in a two-month run of "Rebel Without a Cause" in 2005.

And this month, he starts a TV series called "Dear Father," in which he plays an apprentice chef working for a tough Tokyo master. He laughs when asked if he can cook. "No," he says as he emerges from the set's kitchen during a break in the shooting, his hands wet from washing dishes. "But the work is fun."

"There's a real personality to his acting," says Rieko Miyamoto, the show's director. "He can act with his mouth and his eyes." So Ninomiya was an obvious candidate when Eastwood sent out a casting call to Japanese actors for "Letters From Iwo Jima." In addition to his talent, the studio calculated that Ninomiya's J-pop aura might drag a younger crowd to the box office, a tactic that has paid off to some degree, though Warner Bros. exit figures still show that the bulk of the movie's Japanese audience is in its late 30s to early 50s.

Audition tapes were sent across the Pacific to the late Phyllis Huffman, the casting director who had been a longtime Eastwood collaborator. Johnny's had another of its stars in mind for the Saigo role and Ninomiya was originally cast as Private Shimizu, the idealistic military policeman sent to Iwo Jima as punishment for showing mercy toward civilians. But Eastwood had not settled on his Saigo, and the director asked Ninomiya to read again for that part.

A personal connection

Like most young Japanese, Ninomiya had only a sketchy idea about the events at Iwo Jima in early 1945. Unlike most of his contemporaries, he at least knew where the tiny volcanic island is located because he has a map of Japan on the wall of his bathroom at home "and when I sit down, Iwo Jima is right in front of my eyes."

He went into the role the way Japanese soldiers went to battle: unsure of the fate that awaited them, suppressing their emotions. Japanese directors like to exaggerate emotions, he says, cranking up the tears and the music. "They make movies with greater and greater emotion, and it's not realistic," Ninomiya says. "So if you make a movie [like 'Letters'] that is based on reality, some people will find it uninteresting. They will say I should have cried more in certain scenes."

Ninomiya shed his tears after the film was in the can. His grandfather had been a soldier sent off to fight Japan's imperial wars. And he told his grandson about his war: stationed in the occupied Korean peninsula, taken prisoner by Soviet troops, incarcerated in Siberia.

Then the grandson, having played a suffering soldier facing slaughter in a hopeless cause, found himself one night watching another war drama on Japanese TV.

"I couldn't stop crying," he says. "I cried, because it was my grandfather's story."
