花より男子

(2005-10-21 to 2005-12-16)

Creator:
Yoko Kamio.

From manga, anime and drama series. The last one had been in several version. But I want to talk about the new version.

I love Hanadan! I never read the manga. I knew the story first from Meteor Garden. Since it said it's originally from Japan, I'm so curious how it would be with Japan actors. So here, Hana Yori Dango (Hanadan) 2005-2007.
They split the story to 2. First on 2005 and the 2nd in January 2007 (currently playing).
The first part is in 9 episodes. What should I tell, I'm sure none of you that didn't know Hanadan story. I won't tell the story anyway.

[News] Some news - Japan

Some interesting news..

TELEVIEWS / Familiar names top TV earnings list

...

Commercials are about the most lucrative work around considering the small investment of time, the wide exposure and the paycheck, but it is still a male bastion at the top. Nikkei Entertainment estimates 11 celebrities can charge 100 million yen or more for a commercial. Sayuri Yoshinaga is the only female on that list. The only other women in the top 25 are actress Nanako Matsushima and golfer Ai Miyazato, both in the 80 million yen category.

SMAP sits at the very top of the list, charging 250 million yen-300 million yen per CM. Takuya Kimura, who will make his first guest appearance on Dec. 1 on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's legendary and revealing afternoon talk show Tetsuko no Heya (Mondays-Fridays, 1:20 p.m., TV Asahi network), individually holds eight contracts estimated to be worth 90 million yen each. Fellow SMAPsters Shingo Katori and Tsuyoshi Kusanagi each hold seven CM contracts in the 70 million yen range. SMAP will be able to open their own bank soon.

According to the magazine, the only others who can demand over 100 million yen are Ichiro and Hideki Matsui, at 170 million yen, soccer hero Hidetoshi Nakata, 150 million yen, and veteran rocker Eikichi Yazawa and actor Ken Watanabe, at 130 million yen.

Japan lines up for homegrown pix

First time local biz has beaten foreign films since '85

By MARK SCHILLING

TOKYO -- Japanese pics are on track to grab a majority share of the 2006 box office, the first time domestic product has beaten foreign films since 1985, according to numbers compiled by the Nikkei newspaper.

In the first 10 months of 2006, B.O. for Japanese pics accounted for 47% of the total. Tipping the scales for Hollywood was "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," which grossed Y10.8 billion ($92 million) following its November 2005 release.

From January to October, however, local pics occupied half of the top 10 B.O. spots, led by the Studio Ghibli toon "Tales From Earthsea" ($65 million) and sea actioner "Umizaru 2 -- Test of Trust" ($60 million).

The Japanese biz has a stronger lineup than Hollywood going into the holiday season, including Yoji Yamada's period drama "Love and Honor," headlined by local megastar Takuya Kimura ("2046"); "Nana 2," Kentaro Otani's sequel to his 2005 femme buddy pic that earned $34.4 million; and "Oh-oku," the film version of the hit Fuji TV drama about the women of the Shogun's court.

My friend bought the limited edition version. I like the cell-phone strap, can't describe it, it's just great. The CD cover, the CD-case cover for limited and regular version are in different pose. So with the postcard inside.
Oh about the dairy, I think it meant by Kimura hand writing inside the making film. He wrote in the end of shooting day. His writing is great in latin but not in hiragana and kanji. Hardly read!!

[Prv] Books I read

I love reading. I don't think I read much but from manga till novel. Whether it's comedy, adventure, knowledge, a little of romance I like to read one. But I'm so picky. Romance like Sandra Brown, I don't read. When people said a book is good, I'll try to read it. How i choose what to read is mostly based on best seller book list. I remember how I got into Harry Potter few years back. I read US magazine, it's health magazine for bodybuider. There's a page that showed best seller book in a year. Among those books (politic, novel, health tip from famous person, etc) there is one book that rank in #1 with cartoon image on the cover. And I saw the updated page next few month and the cartoon cover is changed but not the big title 'Harry Potter' (and the Sorcerer's stone). Big curiosity and gladly I found in the book store near office.

I read more foreign books than local books. But for foreign books, most of I read in translated language. I have no problem with that though I prefer in original (in this case, in English) and as long as it has good translation. Sometimes i can't finish the book due to not-to-good translation. Like The Zahir by Paul Coelho (Brazilian writer), I couldn't continu to read.

I don't have fave authors, but I continually waiting for J.K.Rowling's Harry Potter and Agatha Christy's series, Mary Higgins Clark's, and some classical story like Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice (I like it so much!), Emma, Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, and much more. And Harry Potter is my fave books. I like comics as well. Usually I read my books before bed (when I'm not tired), on weekend, but mostly I read on the way to office. The traffic in the morning is sooo unbearable, it's better to do something like reading book than complaint^^ I also have no problem reading while moving, though it said to be bad to the eyes @@

Recently I just finished 'The Chronicles of Narnia, the lion, the witch and the wardrobe' and just bought this afternoon Haruki Murakami's Norwegian wood. I happened to attracted by the cover, a Hinomaru (Japan's flag). I search on the net and found that he's a famous writer. Oh what I have is translated directly from Japanese, this is rare :)

So do you like reading? What's your fave books or author? I like to know more interesting books :)

To all who get a new book, happy reading!

[JDorama] 1 Litre of Tears (Icchi Rittoru no Namida)

I just finished watching this drama. I cried in every episode, I think I cried more in one episode. Both lead actor/actrees are great. I think all casts did great job here. The mother, Shioka and the younger sister, Ako especially did the most important roles. I highly recommend this drama. You may know how the story goes, but it's more interesting to watch it by yourself. And good soundtracks :)

1 Litre of Tears (Icchi Rittoru no Namida) (2005)

Cast:
Erika Sawajiri (her smile reminds me of Fujiwara Tatsuya's)
Nishikido Ryo (member of JJ News and Kanjani8 and my ID has nothing related to his name^^)
Naohito Fujiki (I just knew him from here though I heard him before from my friend)
Yakushimaru Hiroko (I remember the lady as bistro guest in SMAPXSMAP show this/last year)
Jinnai Takanori (I knew him from Katori Shingo no dorama 'Hito ni yasashiku')
Narumi Riko (I think the girl is a new comer)

Synopsis
(from JDorama)
[Based on a true story]

This story is about a girl named Aya who suffered from an incurable disease, but lived life to the fullest until her death at 25. The original story is based on the diary Aya kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen. The book that later followed entitled “One Liter of Tears" has sold over 1.1 million copies.

Aya's only wish was “to live." By carefully depicting Aya's earnest desire to live, and the love of her family, friends, and lover, the drama, “One Liter of Tears" wishes to deliver her simple but strong message: “Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."

Cancer

I might scared you, sorry. Currently I'm watching J-dorama titled 'Boku no ikiru michi' (The way I live). About the main cast had gastric cancer and told that he only got 12 months left. And after he admit his disease and the condition, he started to live happily as he could. Good story, good lesson. And I realize that my late grandmother had cancer, my dear friend also had cancer, someone I knew also had cancer (she's passed away now), and 2 of my neighbours had cancer and one of them have passed away. It is scary since no symptoms and when they found out, it's already late.

My friend had colon cancer. I'm sooo sad when she told me about it. I feel like I'm gonna lose her. But she was more down and depressed. She had operated since 2003 and thank God she's still in good health now. From her doctor she knew that the disease is heritaged and her uncle had it. Someone I knew had breast cancer. The progression is so fast. She didn't knew she had cancer till the tumor remove in one operation. 4 months later she died. When my grandmother (actually she's my grandmother cousin) got sick, we're so sad. Nothing can be done, it's late stadium.

Ok, be careful everyone..

Konnichiwa

It's been a long time since I have high curiosity about a Blog. Want to try one. So here I am.

I'm an Asian living in Asia. This blog specially created so I can talk about my rambling and fandom here (to get out from daily routine? That's why I call this as my quite room where I'm hiding. I can practice my English too). I have a thought that no one would read this..
Anyway, to those who happened to bump here and leave any comment, I would like to thank you~
Feel free to comment, and be nice, please. Thank you.

Though it's late, but here's for Kimura no tanjoubi^^
