Tsuyoshi Domoto to star in "detective" drama
Fri, June 6, 2008 (1:32am EDT)

Tsuyoshi Domoto is starring in Fuji TV's next Saturday night drama, titled "33-pun Tantei" ("33 Minute Detective"). This is his first lead role in a drama series since "Home Drama" in 2004.

The show's name come from its time slot (Saturday nights at 11:10pm), which runs a total of 33 minutes after commercial time is subtracted. Each episode's mystery is solved within that short time span, but unlike typical detective shows, this comedy features a slow-witted sleuth named Rokuro Kurama (Domoto). While viewers will be able to identify the criminal right away, Domoto's character constantly comes up with incorrect theories, leading him to always accuse the wrong person.

Screenwriter Yuichi Fukada devised the show's concept. He frequently works with Domoto, writing for shows such as "Shin Domoto Kyodai" and "Domoto Tsuyoshi no Shoujiki Shindoi."

"33-pun Tantei" begins airing on August 2.

I laugh already to this "While viewers will be able to identify the criminal right away, Domoto's character constantly comes up with incorrect theories, leading him to always accuse the wrong person."
xD xD xD

Rokuro Kurama?
sounds comical xD

Yay!! Tsuyo-chan is back oonce more. The drama must be pretty good in order to tempt him away from his beloved Endli. ^^
Do we know anything about the plot or his co-stars??

not yet, but this 33 minutes really bother me.

I just hope please invite Koichi as cameo, as victim or the bad guy will be great! I'd like to see Koichi as the bad guy, must be more interesting ;)
We can expect a new single as the theme song too >>

Lol....Koichi as the bad guy would be INCREDIBLE!!!...Hhaahahha...I think it'll be perfect. Kinki vs. Kinki. Hahhaa....I don't know who I'll be rooting for...I think I will have to wait to see Tsuyo-chan's character. If he's as lovable as Natsu in Summer Snow, then I'll be cheering for him. Hehhee...^^
Yeah...I didn't understand the 33 minutes though. Is it 33 minutes per episode? Or the mystery is solved in 33 minutes? Or it's only 33 minutes? I don't understand it really. The translation was a bit difficult to understand, but I'm grateful that someone actually attempted to translate since I definitely didn't understand the Japanese one.

KinKi vs KinKi = saigo^^

Ok, i'll try to get it in details and here's what I got.

- The detective role has loose character. (I imagine someone like detective Columbo of Peter Falk)
- At each episode, the 33 minutes is the main part of the drama. (It seems like the detective's way in solving the case thus develop inferences.. in 33 minutes? Well, Japan drama episode is short I know, so maybe the 10 left minutes is for this and that scenes :P)
- This part is Tsuyoshi's comment^^
「コメディードラマということで非常に楽 しみにしています。笑いのあふれる現場づくりができればいいなと思っています。皆さんどうぞ楽しみに待っていてください!」とコメントした.
(The drama has comedy touch. It will bring some laughs at the the shooting locations?. Everyone, please wait for this drama to come.)
Any mistaken comes from me.

Hmm...It seems like Tsuyoshi wants to head toward the comedy sector also? Koichi was greatly influenced by his role in Sushi Ouji; he makes jokes more easily now it seems...I wonder how Tsuyoshi will change after this drama.

I think Tsuyo has sense for comedy (see previous Kindaichi, Gakkou no Sensei drama, can sense it on SummerSnow too). Maybe it's more like bakaish sense xD And Tsuyoshi is the joker in the past (I think it's until 2006). He really changed after that >>

I still haven't seen Gakkou!!!...Nooo!!...Kindaichi....I saw the first episode...and then...I stopped and got into Sushi Ouji...Koichi needs to stop distracting me.

ryo said...

:p

hmm.. too bad, no better subbed available at the moment for Gakkou.
You should see Kindaichi till finish, you'll see the real character of Hajime^^

Lol....Tsuyo-chan as "slow-witted" Kurama...This sounds interesting already. It's going to be like...How is he going to solve this when he's so slow...Lol...Tsuyo-chan! Ganbatte!!!...
August 2?? I wonder if anyone will upload it...*sighs*...Busy year for Tsuyoshi then; new drama and promo, probably new single, and then concert tour...

I'm sure this drama will subbed and share ;)
